The UN has named Joseph Nganga as the new CEO of the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Nganga, who is currently the executive director of the Rockefeller Foundation, will helm the inaugural Africa Climate Summit, which will be held in Nairobi, Kenya, next month.

According to the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet, Nganga, who is also the chair of the Funders Council at Sustainable Energy for All and a member of the Board for the Charity, Carolina for Kibera, has more than 20 years of experience in the clean-energy industry.

He started his career as an investment banker at Bank of America, according to the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet.
